
What is the standard turnaround time?
Depending on the scope of the project, Trace offers a 5 to 10 business day turnaround time. For projects requiring a Level IV data package, the data package will follow the report in five business days. Trace also offers rush services for an additional cost.

How do I get a sample to your lab?
Samples can be brought to our sample receiving department at 2241 Black Creek Road in Muskegon, Michigan (see directions & maps). A chain-of-custody can be downloaded for completion prior to pick-up or delivery. Trace also provides a courier service to pickup samples in West Michigan and deliver them to our lab. How much sample do I need, what type of sample container should I use, and how do I get it?

Is it possible to track the shipment of sample containers from Trace?
Yes, upon request. Trace uses UPS with Quantum View Notify™ for tracking shipments. If you provide Trace with your email address and request this service, an email notification will come from UPS when the package is shipped and when it is delivered.

Can Trace conduct the routine sampling needed for my business to meet its permit requirements?

Do you perform well and septic inspections?
No, please contact your local health department.

Do you do well chlorinations?
No, however we can provide directions on how to do it yourself.

How long are samples retained?

How can I tell if my water is safe to drink?

Do you offer drinking water analysis for the sale of a home or for refinancing?

What types of data packages can Trace provide?
Trace is able to provide all levels of data packages suited to your needs. There may be an additional fee for a Level IV data package, depending on the project size.

If I ship samples, how can I be sure they arrive intact?
Trace checks all samples against the chain-of-custody and records the temperature of the cooler(s) upon receipt. You will be contacted if there is a discrepancy. A copy of your chain-of-custody is also faxed to you as confirmation of receipt.
